Nuts and dried fruits are often misinterpreted as being in the same category. They are similar in some ways but different in many ways as well. For instance, seeds that are contained within a pod are known as nuts or dry fruits. They can include pistachios, walnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, peanuts, and more.

Dried fruits, on the other hand, are fresh fruits that have been systemically or naturally dried. They can include raisins, dried cherries, apricots, dried figs, and more. Both nuts and dried fruits contain a high amount of nutrients that can benefit your overall health.

Nuts are typically rich in proteins, minerals, calcium, and healthy fats. They, however, can contain high levels of saturated fats and can be high in calories. Therefore, they should only be consumed in moderation if you are trying to lose weight.

Dried fruits, on the other hand, contain a much higher sugar level than nuts. Their intake should be limited, especially those who are suffering from diabetes, heart issues, high blood pressure, and various health conditions. Dried fruits, however, can benefit individuals who are anemic and athletes who are constantly working out.

Rich in antioxidants and filled with nutrients, both nuts and dried fruits can help boost immunity. No matter what kind of nuts or dried fruits you are planning to consume, it is recommended to take note of the ingredients and processes. As these fruits can be fried, heavily salted, or artificially sweetened, ingesting them in moderate is recommended.
